Born 1990 in West Palm, Florida, Carly Moore became attracted to art as a child. She currently studies at Appalachian State University, where she has been invited to the school's Honor Program for Art and has won numerous awards at Art Expo, an annual competition for students,  including having her artwork entitled "Squish" purchased by Appalachian State for the University's Permanent Art Collection.
Carly has enjoyed learning how to create from the beginning stages, building particular frames for each subject matter as well as weaving certain patterns and using different fiber techniques. This young artist has the ability to create a canvas that is fitted to match the painting, allowing for an engagement between backdrop and image to produce a more unifying and impacting work of art.

"Learning how to weave was a breaking point in my artistic life. I had always loved painting and enjoyed being able to feel the cloth and stretch my own canvases, but once I began exploring more about why cotton and linen were so publicly used, it became clear that I wanted to take the canvas in a different direction that could benefit my overall paintings in the final piece. Every color that is used has a meaning whether to suggest the viewer feel a certain way, have a representational meaning, or simply to unify. It is also the same with specific patterns of the weave, how the weaving may have been dyed, or the method by which it was manipulated like being stitched or bound. I want my audience to experience the whole canvas, not just the subject matter. A woven canvas brings to life another dimension of reality and integration."
